Turbo Tax New Mobile Apps + Giveaway!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited to the Turbo Tax DC Blogger Happy Hour where I got to see many of my DC blogging buddies and friends!  The last time we got together for the Turbo Tax Happy Hour was 2 years ago so this get together was long over due!  The guys and gals in attendance were:

The food was great per usual and  we all caught up while Turbo Tax put their a new mobile products on display for us to try out and give feedback.   Check out the breakdown of each product and the following screenshots:

TaxCaster: Now available for iPad as well as iPhone and Android devices, TaxCaster is a free and easy way to estimate a tax refund. With this interactive and engaging app, customers can quickly and easily enter information using visual icons and sliders to see where they stand before they file.

SnapTax: Designed for taxpayers with a simple return (1040EZ), SnapTax was the first mobile app to allow users to completely prepare and e-file a federal and state return from their iPhone or Android device. SnapTax is easy, accurate and secure and lets users snap a photo of their W-2 with the camera in their phone and then, automatically transfers information right onto their tax return. Taxpayers then answer a few simple questions, review their return and tap “File My Taxes” to e-file in minutes.

• TurboTax for iPad: Improved for tax year 2011, TurboTax for iPad, now includes the ability to easily transfer information from a prior year return and automatically import income information directly from 400,000 employers, banks and financial institutions. Free one-on-one tax advice from highly-qualified tax experts is now available to users of TurboTax for iPad and SnapTax as well.

MyTaxRefund: After e-filing, any taxpayer can check the status of both their federal and state tax returns with this free and easy mobile app available now for iPad, as well as iPhone, Android devices. MyTaxRefund addresses the questions taxpayers have after they file around when their returns are accepted and when to expect to receive their federal tax refund based on IRS projections

I’ve been a long time user and fan of Turbo Tax so I am well aware of how it functions on a desktop computer.  So this year we might try filing our taxes on the iPad since I love the screenshots and the interface.  The Taxcaster looks awesome as well because it takes away the icky feeling I have about doing my taxes.  I think anyone who wants a really simple way to get taxes done without forking over hundreds in fees to a random tax filer should start with Turbo Tax.  Even for the more complicated returns, Turbo Tax is well suited for this as well.

What are you thoughts about the new Turbo Tax mobile products?  Are you planning on trying them this tax season?  If you haven’t, make sure to enter the giveaway for a chance to win a Turbo Tax Premier Giftcard for this year’s tax season! (scroll up to the top of this post!)
