Many experts are now stating that shares in gold mining companies are now the way to go. Mind you they have been saying this for a little while now, but there are easier to gain access to for investment purposes.

There has been so much about investing in gold at present…but the
reality is that it may be a store of wealth but probably won’t do you
much good over the longer term. If you follow historical precedence then
yes, put money in gold today but investment is for tommorrow. For that
you should be looking at a longer time horizon and stocks and property
look a better long term bet. Aside from options trading which is short term and speculative, there are very ‘few’ economical ways for the smaller investor to trade on the gold price.

I agree there are number of reasons to own gold bullion, but many people are also buying silver, which has often been called the poor relation of gold. With gold at almost $1700 it can be too expensive for some. Silver at around $30 is a much cheaper way of investing in precious metals.

Well, this is a disappointing post. It communicates almost no usable information- beyond a weblink- and doesn’t provide any in-depth information. It was like reading an About.com post. I really expect better from one of my favorite finance blogs.
