I would love love love to buy one of these for my husband. He wants an SUV but I just can’t stomach them, it would be a perfect compromise. I’m going to go look at prices right now.

Thanks for gathering the information Ginger! My wife and I with a growing family (ie one on the way) want an SUV but wary about the rising gas prices. You are right, the Ford Escape is looking really attractive right now.

I bought a 2006 Lexus 400h hybrid SUV last June. I do almost all city driving in traffic and few highway miles. My latest gas mileage is 23.2 mpg. Hardly worth the hype but I love the car for it’s handling and space. I am waiting for a better SUV to be marketed and I am out of this one.
