DC Metro: Check Me Out This Evening On Fox 5 News @ 5pm

This is my second interview with Fox 5 News and it will air this evening on Fox 5 News DC at 5pm! We discussed things that I am doing around the house to be frugal during hard economic times. Stacie, the reporter made fun of my obsession with personal finance because of my Cash Flow 101 game, lol but it was good!

Some of the things that I do are:

  • Plugging out appliances if they are not in use. Seriously, I do this and even more now!
  • Programming my thermostat to come on at 5am and 6pm
  • Put in energy efficient bulbs in our bedroom lamps. We need to figure out the dimmers in the basement.
  • Per a tip from No Credit Needed, I have a price book that I use to track my favorite items when they go on sale. I then buy them in bulk.
    • Here are the remaining 4 jars of pasta sauce of 10 that we initially bought! They were 10 for $10 at our local Shoppers!
  • I only gas up my car depending on where I am going during the week. To decrease gas use and mileage I park and ride at the metro instead of driving from home to work then to practicum and then to class which would be close to 90 miles round trip and $30 in parking.

Every little but counts!

So we got all of that on camera along with talking about being a graduate student, student loans and why personal finance is so important to me.

Please forgive any hair or makeup mishaps, I know I am so vain!
