Choosing the Right Credit Card

ChooseCreditCards.com is a neat site that allows you to browse credit cards based on your needs and preferences. For example they have credit cards for students, 0% interest credit cards and reward credit cards. As I convince myself that I should have more than 2 credit cards my search will start here to see exactly what they have to offer. For instance I really like their Reward Credit Card offers because I can compare which credit best suits my needs based on my lifestyle. For example, Blue Cash® from American Express® is a fantastic reward card with the following features and benefits:

  • “Best Cash-Rebate Card by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance*”
  • Up To 5% Cash Back with Unlimited Cash Rewards
  • Earn Unlimited Cash Back
  • 0% Intro APR for 6 Months on Purchases
  • Low Balance Transfer Rate - 4.99% Fixed APR for the Life of the Balance
  • No Annual Fee
  • Express Approval. Get a Decision in Less than 60 Seconds

Here’s the credit card review from the site:

Blue from American Express® is an ideal credit card for those with good credit who already have an established credit history and are looking for a card with access to a reward program.

Various American Express® services and benefits are provided with this card, such as purchase protection, auto rental insurance, a year-end financial statement, and various travel and emergency assistance services.

Cardholders also have access to Blue’s Membership Rewards Express(SM) program, which offers members the chance to earn points that can be redeemed for various services and products. The rewards program is by far one of the best reward programs offered in the credit card industry, due in part to the variety of rewards offered with no yearly limit and no expiration policy for earned points.

This card has no annual fee and a reasonable interest rate for purchases (for those who qualify), which makes it ideal for those who plan to occasionally carry a balance. The card has a 0% introductory rate for up to 15 months of membership that can be applied towards purchases. A 4.99% introductory rate is available on balance transfers for the life of the loan. It is important to note that the balance transfer introductory rate only applies to those who initiate a transfer when applying for the card.

Therefore, those who qualify for the lowest rate offered and plan to take advantage of the additional benefits and discounts available by American Express®, especially frequent travelers who can take advantage of the Membership Rewards Express(SM) program with earned points that can be combined with various frequent flyer accounts, will benefit most from what the Blue from American Express® card has to offer.

Sweet ehh? Go take a looksee for yourself! And remember, as with anything associated with credit, choose and use it wisely.

  1. To start with…I love your blog name!
About the Blue Cash…this card is great, but what they always fail to point out is that you have to spend $6,500 before the 5% kicks in. Before you reach that point you’ll only get 0.5% on purchases, and 1% on “everyday purchases” (gas, groceries). I guess thats not bad, but its no 5%! (Thats why I switched from blue cash to amex clear). If you spend more than $6,500 though then you’re set…and its a great card!

  2. I’d need to get my credit together before I can look at AMEX, LOL! But good to know that you get cash back. Sabrina, they should put that in big bold letters on the card!

  3. *droool* AMEX! There’s something about AMEX that makes you want to spend money. Not good. But like you said, we need to be wise about our spending.

  4. Do you own “Choose Credit Cards”? Or are they paying you for this post?

I’m amazed at the number of different ways you managed to link to the site in the space of one small paragraph.

  5. Neither FiveCent, but thanks for your concern :-)

  6. I’m not too sure which way to go with Credit Cards, I am far from trusting myself with one, way too many Shoe Shops in my area.

  7. I have four credit cards that have been inactivate for a decade. Is it better to cancel or leave open inactive (with zero balance) credit cards?
